A few weeks ago I bought the “Modern Floral” coordinating stamps and dies from The Thirsty Brush & Co. I spent £29.68 on the collection. For this I got a set of 10 stamps and 8 dies. There are no consumables in the collection. So provided the stamps and dies are looked after they will last forever.
The stamps themselves are great quality. They stick to acrylic blocks very well; the image they leave is crisp and clean and the stamps stamp well every time. The dies are also of good quality and feel strong and robust. They will all fit easily through an A5 sized die cutting machine such as the Snap or the Gemini Junior. The dies fit neatly over the stamped images and are very easy to align.
The thing I like most about this collection is that the central image and sentiments come in two sizes, meaning you can make many different styles of cards. The smaller stamps could be used to make back grounds or toppers for notelets and the larger stamps and dies can be used as a central statement.
Another great thing about this collection is the sentiment dies. The larger sentiments have a stamp, die and a die for cutting an additional mat layer. This makes the matting and layering of sentiments quick and simple, making them easy to read and professional looking. When I first started to make cards I found adding professional looking sentiments very difficult, so the addition of the mat layers is a great thing for beginners!
Overall the collection represents good value for money due to the quality of the tools and the versatility provided by the two sizes of stamps and dies. As there are no consumables in this collection the cost per make using these stamps and dies goes down with each use.
The stamps and dies in this collection are fast becoming some of my favourites. So far I have used these stamps in jewellery, card making and journaling and I have many more projects in mind for them!
