We all feel better when the sun is shining right? Well sometimes the clouds come over and we have to make our own sunshine.
This week we are going to look at journaling for positivity. The idea is to help us to train ourselves to see the good in situations and to give us a more positive outlook on life. We don’t have to lie to ourselves and say things are good when they are actually bad, but sometimes it helps to look at our situation from an outside perspective. It helps to to view situations with a bit more balance, and it can help to to see that things might not be quite as bad as we think they are.
So I have come up with a journaling layout to help us exercise our positive outlooks. The idea is to think of just one thing every day that is a positive in our lives. It might be something that makes you happy, something you are thankful for, or even something you did. Even if you have had a terrible day, still look for the positives. For example, “I have had an awful day, but Aunty Maggie phoned me and tried to make me feel better. I still feel terrible, but it means a lot to me that I have a family who are there to help me in the bad times.”
